One thing is for certain; You and the girls have got to stay fed and full of energy through all the partying and celebrations… but don’t stress about where to eat! We’ve done our fair bit of research to help anyone new to the city to help you find the best places to eat during your visit. If Birmingham’s dining hotspots were to be described as one thing, it would probably be eclectic. The city’s food scene is a clash of delicious cultural delicacies, so you’re more than spoilt for choice when it comes to finding the perfect place to sit back, relax and tuck in to some great food.

For a quick and greasy bite to eat, you and the girls cannot go wrong with Bonehead. If you’re looking for a meal in between your activities, then this relaxed and friendly restaurant has some of the best crispy fried chicken burgers you could possibly find in this gigantic city! On the other end of the scale is Fazenda. For somewhere bit more upscale, you can’t go wrong with this eatery. Get sat down and help yourselves to a few sides from the buffet before choosing from a selection of meats that constantly rotate around the room until you’re full!

Maybe you and the girls are just looking to find that special place in Birmingham that will never disappoint when it comes to pizza… well, you’re in luck! @Pizza, situated inside Birmingham New Street Station’s main building is a fantastic hotspot. Rated as Tripadvisor’s top restaurant in the whole of Birmingham and credited by some customers as being the best pizza in the country, you and the girls really need to check this one out for yourselves, because you won’t be leaving disappointed!

Broad Street Nightlife

One of the most popular places to party for groups. Broad Street is one long street packed with juicy bars and clubs to sink your teeth into. Some favourites around this area include the classic Revolutions for their popular flavoured vodkas, and Players Bar for cocktails with a twist. Full of late night bars in Birmingham open until 6am.

The Jewellery Quarter

More than just wedding rings and diamonds, its full of independent bars and elegant drinking establishments

The Jam Factory which is overlooking St Pauls square is a legendary music venue in Birmingham with live music on most nights.

Have a stroll around the Summer Row and pop into the The Button Factory.  This New York styled bar boasts a lovely little outdoor terrace and is known in the city for its cocktails, including bellinis and martinis.

Temple Street

Around Temple Street and Waterloo Street is the best place to kick off your night, with tons of restaurants you can go to before diving into the bars and clubs. Here, you have a mix of chain bars and classics you can only find in Birmingham like Head of Steam. Steam-punk style and chilled atmosphere, this bar is great for a couple of drinks before you hit the hard stuff.

From there, you can find Revolución de Cuba just up the road, and the beautiful Botanist bar in the other direction if you want fruity, herbal and smoking cocktails.

The Mailbox Bars

A real trendy place to visit on the night. The Mail Box is close to the Cube, this entertainment venue hosts many types of bars and eateries.

Pop open a bottle of Champagne at Harvey Nichols Brasserie & Bar.  A place to be seen! Or maybe a informal bar offering artisanal cocktails with some delicious food nibbles is preferred.  The Mailbox has it all!

Reasons to Visit

Cadbury World

If you are looking to make it a full day out, there’s nowhere more exciting to visit than Cadbury World, situated in the Bournville area in South Birmingham. Take a self-guided tour of a whopping 14 zones that tell the story of the history of chocolate and much more!

Mailbox Birmingham

Take a stroll around one of the city’s most fashionable shopping developments, featuring one of the few Harvey Nichols stores in the UK.

The Balti Triangle

If you’re big fans of a good curry, then you’ve come to the best place! Largely considered to be the birthplace of the Balti curry, you will find a huge number of restaurants in this south Birmingham area, including some of the oldest curry houses in the city.

Aston Hall

If you’re looking to take in some history, then why not plan a visit to Aston Hall. A fantastic example of Jacobean architecture and rich in history, this is a great way to delve into the past and take some time to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Birmingham’s Canal Network

Surprising to some, but Birmingham’s canals are probably one of the best ways to see the city. With the Old Line cutting straight through Theatreland, Symphony Hall and the Mailbox, you can even stop off for a few pints at a canal-side pub if you’re feeling thirsty!

Digbeth’s Dining Club

A multi-award winning street food event that takes place every week on Lower Trinity Street, just a short distance outside of the city centre. Bringing people together from all over the Midlands to try and test pioneering food, this is certainly an event not to miss if you’re a group of foodies!

Getting Around Birmingham

Being so large, it can be easy to get lost and walking can be very tiring after a while since some places are just too far to walk. However, from New Street Station you can access to the Bullring shopping centre and Broad Street, two major hotspots for shopping, drinking and eating with ease.

We’d probably sway away from driving around the city centre as it can sometimes be slower than walking, but if you want to save your feet from blisters the city centre has an extensive park and ride service going off and to most streets around Birmingham.
