About Funktion Events
Funktion Events is a UK group events company, part of Funktion Leisure Ltd, planning stag dos across the UK and Europe since 2007. We’re ABTA-bonded (Member No. Y6501) and Rated Excellent on Trustpilot from 2,811+ reviews, with 12,000+ stag weekends arranged across 73 destinations. We sort the activities, nightlife and accommodation so the lads just turn up.
ABTA is the Association of British Travel Agents, the UK travel industry’s regulator, and members must meet strict financial-protection and customer-care standards. Funktion Events is an ABTA member (Y6501), so any package that includes travel or accommodation is protected and your money is safe if anything happens to us. Read more about our ABTA protection.

Booking & deposit
Send us an enquiry with your dates, destination and group size, and we’ll get a tailored quote back to you within 24 hours. When you’re happy, secure it with a £20 group deposit, then share a link so the lads pay their own share online. Browse our stag do ideas to start building the weekend.
Just £20 to book the whole group, then a further £20 group payment on the 15th of the following month. That’s a group deposit, not a deposit per person, so you’re not fronting cash for everyone upfront. Some activities may need a larger deposit, and your event manager will tell you if so.
For packages that include accommodation, you secure the booking with a £20 deposit, then a further £80 within two weeks, £100 in total. Your balance is then due six weeks before the weekend. Your event manager will confirm the exact amounts and dates on your quote.
Yes. Once you’ve booked, invite the group to your My Events area and each lad pays his own share online, in his own time. No spreadsheets, no chasing, and no fronting the cash yourself.
No. Give us a realistic estimate when you book. We need final numbers five weeks before for activity-only bookings, or six weeks before for packages that include accommodation (see our terms for the exact wording). Many best men book for their likely maximum and trim it as plans firm up, and minimum group sizes apply to some activities.
It depends on your destination and what you choose. As a guide, stag activities run from around £20 to £55 per person. A full UK weekend with accommodation and activities, or a trip abroad, varies by destination and season. Browse our activities and destinations for live prices.
That’s up to your group. Most groups cover the groom and split his cost between everyone. In your My Events area, any lad can pay towards the groom’s place using the “pay for someone else” option, so you can sort his share however you like.
No. We keep pricing simple, so there are no hidden costs. Just budget for any extras you choose on the weekend, like more drinks, food or entry on the door. If your group drops below an activity’s minimum numbers the per-person price can change, and your event manager will always flag that early.
Yes. Book for 11 and the 12th goes free on packages that include accommodation, plus we run seasonal deals through the year. See our stag do special offers for what’s on now.
Payments & your My Events area
Each lad logs in to your My Events area and pays online, 24/7, by debit or credit card. You can see at a glance who’s paid and who still owes.
Yes. After the deposit, everyone can pay as much as they like, whenever they like, as long as the full balance is in by the deadline. It makes spreading the cost easy across the group.
For activity-only bookings the balance is due five weeks before your stag do. For packages that include accommodation it’s due six weeks before. Your exact deadline is shown on your confirmation and in My Events.
Yes. Give the office a call on 0161 341 0052 and we’ll take payment by debit or credit card. Once it’s paid we add it to your My Events area and send a receipt.
Yes. In My Events, use “pay for someone else” to cover another lad’s deposit or balance, whether that’s the groom, a mate who’s slow to pay, or the whole group.
Yes. Most groups have each lad pay his own share online, but if you’d rather, the best man or organiser can collect the money in and pay one group amount instead. Whatever works best for your group.
Numbers, changes & cancellations
Not a problem, as long as changes are made before the final balance is paid. If the group grows, tell your event manager so we can check availability. If it shrinks, keep an eye on any minimum group sizes, as the cost per person can change if you drop below them. Talk to us early, and see our terms for the exact details.
Usually yes, subject to availability. If a mate decides to join late, let your event manager know as soon as you can. A supplement may apply for late additions on some activities or accommodation.
Here’s a Funktion Events difference: we don’t charge single room supplements. The price we agree when you book is the price you pay, odd or even numbers, and you won’t be asked for more later. Our hotels offer a mix of twin, double and triple rooms, so odd numbers are never a problem.
Yes. Lads can do just the daytime activity, just the night out, or the full weekend, as long as each activity meets its minimum numbers. Tell your event manager and we’ll set the options up so everyone books what suits them.
Plans change, so the first thing we’ll do is try to help you avoid cancelling, usually with a change of date, location or activities. If you do need to cancel, deposits are non-refundable, and any payments above the deposit can be refunded minus the non-refundable deposit and an admin fee, as set out in our terms. Talk to your event manager as early as possible.
Activities & the groom
Yes. We can add cheeky extras like our Beer Babes to your day or night, alongside bar crawls and nightlife options. Tell your event manager what the group’s after and we’ll build it into the weekend. Browse our stag do activities to see what’s available.

Yes. Add the groom to your guest list using a different email address, for example the best man’s, so he doesn’t get the payment reminders or see the itinerary. He’s still counted in the numbers, but the weekend stays a surprise until you choose to reveal it.
Most activities run from a minimum of around 10, though some need more and a few work for smaller groups. If your numbers are tight, tell your event manager and we’ll find activities that fit. Dropping below an activity’s minimum can change the per-person price, so we’ll always flag it.
Travel & protection
We don’t book flights, as it’s usually cheaper and easier to book them direct. We’d suggest a comparison site like Skyscanner. We’ll take care of everything on the ground once you land.
In the UK, groups arrange their own transport. For stag weekends in Europe, transfers are included with most of our activities, covering airport-to-hotel and getting you to and from your activities. If a package doesn’t include them, just ask and we’ll look into arranging it.
We strongly recommend every lad takes out adequate travel insurance, for UK stag dos as well as abroad. Plans change, and people can fall ill or have to drop out, so insurance protects each person’s money and covers the activities. See our before you travel guide for what to check.
On the day
Yes. We add contact details to your My Events area. If you can’t find what you need there, call our office on 0161 341 0052, and out of hours the voicemail gives an emergency number. For stag dos in Europe, local contact numbers are in your My Events itinerary too.
We run hundreds of events a week, so we can’t always guarantee extra time at the end of a session. Check the venue address and start time in My Events before you set off, and the team will still do their best to make it a good one.
Most activities run rain or shine. If a venue or instructor decides it’s not safe to run, they’ll try to offer an alternative. Pack for the weather just in case.
Sorry, no. Our suppliers need final numbers in advance to keep everything running safely, so we can’t add lads on the day.

Yes. We can arrange accommodation alongside your activities, from city-centre hotels to group apartments, with no single room supplements. Tell your event manager the standard and location you want and we’ll build it into the package.
Yes, Europe is one of our specialities, with 34 cities on the list. We handle the activities, nightlife and accommodation, with transfers included on most activities, and you book flights separately, which is usually cheaper direct. See our stag dos abroad.
