Top 10 Stag Activities (Currently Most Booked):
1. Life Drawing Stag Stitch-Up
Our most booked activity right now. The groom thinks he's heading to a normal life drawing class, but the twist is he becomes the model. Total stitch-up, loads of laughs, brilliant value at under £25pp, and perfect as a pre-night out warm up.
Two gorgeous local guides take you to the best bars, skip queues, and keep the night flowing. Works brilliantly in Newcastle, Cardiff, and Bristol.
Giant inflatable bubble suits, trying to play football, chaotic laughs guaranteed.
"Best activity of the weekend. We were in tears laughing." (Mark, Manchester stag do)
Dodgeball meets Hunger Games. Foam tipped arrows, strategic hiding spots, competitive fun for all fitness levels.
5. Life Drawing
Professional model, art tutor, drinks flowing, proper banter. Consistently one of our top five bookings.
6. Foot Darts
Giant inflatable dartboard, velcro footballs, competitive challenges. Quick, fun and affordable.
Normal 5-a-side, except everyone's wearing electric shock vests. Completely mental and always popular.
8. Smartphone Pub Treasure Hunt
At £16pp for 2 hours, it's become a budget favourite. Complete challenges, score points, follow the interactive pub route.
9. Go Karting
A competitive classic that works in every city and every season.
10. Nightclub Entry
Skip the queues and avoid refusals at the door. Simple but essential.

Life Drawing Stitch-Up has been dominating bookings. Brilliant value and absolutely hilarious.
Emily
Group Booking Team Leader
"Kyla and the team were brilliant sorting our stag football activity. Super clear communication, fast replies and genuinely helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend."
— Steve | via Trustpilot
What our recent booking data shows: Budget activities are climbing fast. Life Drawing Stitch-Up leads due to its value (under £25pp), while Smartphone Pub Treasure Hunt rises due to its £16pp price point. Outdoor activities dipped recently due to wetter weather. For paintballing, quad biking, or clay shooting, book June to August for best conditions or choose indoor alternatives.
Heading abroad? European favourites include Dwarf Hire (Eastern Europe), Beer Bikes in Prague and Amsterdam, plus strip based experiences. Browse our 73 stag weekend destinations for ideas.
The pattern: Groups are choosing laughter heavy, affordable activities and mixing price points to maximise overall value.
Stag Do Activity Ideas: From Classic to Crazy
These categories are based on what UK and European stag groups actually book year after year.
Whether you're after competitive action, social drinking experiences, or something completely mental, we've got options that work for every type of group. Here's how we categorise activities that actually get booked, based on thousands of bookings since 2007.
Competitive & Adrenaline
Go Karting (Fast, competitive, works year-round)
Paintballing (Groom-target practice, best for groups of 8+)
Combat Archery (Hunger Games vibes)
Bubble Football (Pure chaos in giant inflatable suits)
Quad Biking (Outdoor adrenaline for countryside weekends)
Social & Drinking
Beer Babes Bar Crawl (Best bars, no queues)
Brewery Tasting (Popular with 30+ groups)
Beer Bikes (Mobile pub crawl)
Pub Golf (Classic city-wide game)
Steak & Strip (Top meal + entertainment)
Unique & Funny
Life Drawing Stag Stitch-Up (Our #1 pick)
Life Drawing (Standard class with drinks)
Electric Shock Football (Chaos with random zaps)
Stag Arrest (Fake police arrest, popular in Budapest)
Budget-Friendly Winners
Smartphone Pub Treasure Hunt (£16pp)
Foot Darts (£20-25pp)
Bubble Football (£25-35pp)
Electric Shock Football (£30-40pp)
Nightclub Entry (Guaranteed entry)
"We mixed karting with a brewery tour and pub treasure hunt. Perfect balance and kept costs under £150pp total." (Dan, Bristol stag weekend)
Premium Experiences
Clay Pigeon Shooting (£80-120pp)
Off-Road Driving (£45-55pp)
Multi-Activity Packages (£100-150pp)
Extreme Sports (£100-200pp)
Private Boat Hire (£60-120pp, varies by city)
Premium activities work best for smaller groups or older stags, that's what thousands of bookings show us. Younger groups usually mix one premium with budget picks to keep overall costs realistic.
The smart approach: Book one competitive activity, one social activity, and one budget option for best results.
How to Choose the Right Stag Activities
After organising 12,000+ stag weekends since 2007, we know what works. The secret isn't picking the "coolest" activity. It's choosing what suits your groom and your group dynamic. Get this right and everyone has a brilliant time. Get it wrong and you'll have complaints and stragglers.
Start with the groom
Is he adrenaline heavy or chilled? Any phobias or mobility issues? We've had grooms terrified of heights booked onto bungee jumps. Not ideal.
Think about the group dynamic
You'll have work mates who don't know anyone, school friends, family members, and the perpetually skint mate. Balance is key.
Pick activities that work for everyone:
Mix energy levels. One high-octane, one social, one chilled
Consider fitness. Not everyone wants a 10k assault course
Price sensitivity matters. Budget activities like Smartphone Pub Treasure Hunt (£16pp) and Foot Darts (£20-25pp) allow everyone to join in
Use competitive activities as ice-breakers. Karting, Combat Archery, Bubble Football always work
"We mixed karting with paintballing. Perfect combo, everyone was buzzing." (Tom, Newcastle)
Weather-proof your weekend
UK weather is unpredictable. Book at least one indoor activity and check cancellation policies. Outdoor bookings dropped recently due to wetter conditions. If booking outdoor activities, target June to August or choose indoor alternatives.
Day vs. night balance
Classic mistake: overbooking. Most groups handle 1-2 activities Friday, 2 on Saturday, and 1 chilled Sunday activity.
What works: 2-3 activities total, with proper gaps for eating, drinking, and recovery.
Stag Do Costs & Budget Guide
These price ranges are based on real averages across 73 locations and 2,700+ customer reviews.
Getting the budget right is where most stag weekends succeed or fail. Transparent pricing from the start prevents stress and dropouts later.
Budget reality check (per person, per activity):
Budget-Friendly (£15-40pp):
- Smartphone Pub Treasure Hunt (£16pp)
- Foot Darts (£20-25pp)
- Bubble Football (£25-35pp)
- Beer Babes Bar Crawl (£30-33pp)
- Paintballing (£15-30pp)
Mid-Range (£40-80pp):
- Go Karting (£40-60pp)
- Beer Bike (£40-60pp)
- Steak & Strip (£60-85pp)
- Brewery Tours with Meals (£50-80pp)
Higher-End (£80-150+pp):
- Clay Pigeon Shooting (£80-120pp)
- Multi-Activity Packages (£100-150pp)
- European City Activities (£60-120pp)
- Private Boat Hire (£60-120pp)
Most groups spend £80-150 per person for 2-3 activities across the weekend. Mixing one higher-end activity with budget options keeps overall costs realistic.
Group payment options that actually work:
Option 1: Everyone pays us directly. No chasing, no awkwardness.
Option 2: Deposit now, balance later. Secure everything, pay the rest 6-8 weeks before.
Option 3: Best man pays, group reimburses. Old-school but workable with firm deadlines.
"The group payment system saved me so much hassle. Everyone paid on time." (Dan, Liverpool stag organiser)
Our recommendation: Use our group payment system. Everyone's paid before arrival, no last minute dropouts.
When to Book and What Sells Out First
This guidance comes from 18 years of booking patterns across UK and European stag weekends.
Booking too early means chasing confirmations. Booking too late means paying more and missing out. Here's what we've seen after 18 years of organising stag weekends.
Booking timeline that works:
3-6 months ahead:
- Peak season weekends (May to September)
- Bank holidays
- Popular European cities (Prague, Amsterdam, Budapest)
- Large groups (12+)
- Premium activities
1-3 months ahead:
This is still fine for most stag groups, but the best weekend slots will already be gone. Expect to choose from earlier or later times, or alternative venues with more capacity.
- Off-peak UK weekends (October to April)
- Smaller groups (easier to place)
- Limited weekend availability, early or late time slots usually left
- Alternative activity options if the big hitters are sold out
Need help? This is where we come in. We’ve got multiple suppliers in each city, so we can normally find you something that fits your group and the date. Just contact our team and we’ll give you the options still available.
What sells out first:
Outdoor activities (limited capacity). Off road buggies, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting fill up quickly from March to October because they run smaller sessions with fixed time slots.
Beer Babes Bar Crawls. These only run with a set number of girls on Friday and Saturday evenings. Popular cities such as Newcastle, Bristol and London often book up 2-3 months ahead.
Edinburgh in August. The Fringe Festival takes over the whole city. Accommodation, activities and bars get overwhelmed. Book 4-6 months ahead for Edinburgh stag weekends or avoid August entirely.
European weekends. Flights and hotels fill up fast from May to September in cities like Prague, Amsterdam and Budapest.
Seasonal patterns:
May to September: Peak demand
October to December: Shoulder season
January to April: Cheapest deals, least predictable weather
"We left it too late and everything was booked. Had to pick backup activities." (Leeds stag group)
The pattern that works: Book 3-4 months ahead for summer, 6-8 weeks for off-peak.
Biggest Mistakes Stag Groups Make (And How to Avoid Them)
Here are the mistakes we see every year and how to avoid them, based on thousands of stag weekends we've organised.
Mistakes that ruin weekends:
1. Overbooking. 6 activities in 48 hours = knackered group.
2. Ignoring the groom. Don't book a stitch-up for a shy bloke.
3. Not planning for stragglers. Avoid intense 9am activities on Saturday.
4. Choosing based on photos. Epic online, terrible for your actual group.
5. No food plan. Hungry groups = moody groups.
6. Booking last-minute. Leads to poor availability and higher prices.
What actually makes a great stag weekend:
Simplicity: 2-3 solid activities
Balance: Mix adrenaline with social
Flexibility: Loose schedule
Food & drink: Mandatory
The groom enjoys it
Check our Best Man Guide for planning templates.
The winning approach: Book early, keep it simple, mix price points, and consider the groom. That's the formula for great feedback.
