A Turbo Ten10 cricket stag do is a fast-paced, 6-a-side cricket match on a reduced-size outdoor pitch, with all equipment, an event co-ordinator and venue hire included. The format uses a soft ball, so no protective gear is needed. Three overs per innings are designated as turbo overs, where all runs are doubled, and a six counts as ten. The stag group splits into teams of six, and all players bat and bowl throughout the match.

How Turbo Ten10 Cricket Works for a Stag Do

The stag group is split into two teams of six on arrival. Each team plays 10 overs with the bat. A soft cricket ball is used throughout, so no protective equipment is required. All players are required to bowl at some point during the match, and batsmen are allowed unlimited turns until they reach 20 runs, at which point they retire and rejoin the back of the order. Three of the 10 overs per innings are designated as turbo overs, where all runs scored are doubled. Sixes are worth 10 runs rather than the standard six. The event co-ordinator manages the match and keeps the scorecard throughout.

Why Turbo Ten10 Cricket Works for Stag Groups

The turbo overs and the doubled scoring make this a format where the match can swing quickly, which means the competitive element stays alive right until the final over rather than being settled halfway through. The retirement rule keeps the match competitive for both teams throughout, since good batsmen step aside once they hit 20 runs and rejoin the back of the order. Using a soft ball removes any concern about protective gear, and the outdoor sports venue is included, so there is nothing extra to arrange. It suits stag groups with a mix of cricket fans and those who have barely picked up a bat.

Turbo Ten10 Cricket Stag Do FAQs

A Turbo Ten10 cricket stag do is a 6-a-side outdoor cricket match played on a reduced-size pitch using a soft ball. Each team bats for 10 overs, with three of those designated as turbo overs where all runs are doubled. Sixes are worth 10 runs throughout. All players bowl at some point and batsmen retire at 20 runs before rejoining the order. All equipment and venue hire are included, with an event co-ordinator managing the match.

All cricket equipment is provided, including bats, balls and stumps. The activity also includes an event co-ordinator to manage the match and keep the scorecard, and outdoor sports venue hire. No additional kit is required on the day.

No cricket experience is required. The format is designed to work across a range of abilities. A soft ball is used throughout, so no protective gear is needed, and the unlimited batting turns mean less experienced players stay involved rather than being dismissed quickly. The event co-ordinator explains the rules at the start of the match.

If the stag group has more than six players per team, the additional players are rotated in to bat, field and bowl throughout the match. This keeps the stag group involved at different stages rather than waiting for a single turn each.

A turbo over is one of three overs per innings in which all runs scored are worth double. These are built into the Turbo Ten10 format and apply in every innings. Separately, a six is worth 10 runs throughout the entire match as a standard Turbo Ten10 scoring rule. The event co-ordinator explains both rules at the start of the match.

We had a cracking time thank you! Playing cricket in light snow in February was a first for us all I think! But our stag Dominic and everyone who joined in had a really good laugh and many commented afterwards how much they enjoyed it.
