Whether you’re a Southampton native or just visiting for the weekend, the obvious choice for nightlife is to head to the centre, and it doesn’t disappoint! If cocktails are your kind of thing, 1932, Bring & Mix and Revolution are all great choices.

Something a little different to consider is the 70’s themed bar called the Orange Rooms which makes you feel like you’re living it up on a sunny Spanish island or somewhere tropical along those lines. Expect plenty of fruit treats and a groovy décor.

Getting Around Southampton

Being one of the larger cities in our great nation, you can expect transport links of all varieties. There’re regular bus services in and around the city centre as well as Southampton Central, the busiest railway station. If you’re sticking to the city centre, then walking is perfectly fine for the most part as it’s flat and navigable. There’s also a fleet of 1,000 bikes (YoBike) you can hire.

If you want to chillax for an hour, you can take a river cruise up and down the River Itchen and soak in the majestic urban sights. Alternatives to getting around include the usual taxis but may be the least cost-effective solution.
