Ring of Fire Drinking Game

Ring of Fire Stag Do Drinking Game

Most of you have probably heard of this classic drinking game… so why not bring the lads together before the all-important stag night out to play a few hilarious rounds of Ring of Fire?

Whether you bring your own set of house rules to the game or you follow a standard way of playing the game, Ring of Fire is the perfect pre-drinking stag do game that you and the lads can play before heading out on the big night out. Depending on how many people you play with and how quick you can get around the table, a standard game of Ring of Fire lasts around 20 to 40 minutes on average. The question is… who will pick up the final king and be tasked with drinking the awful mixture of drinks in the king’s cup?

What is the Ring of Fire Game?

Known as Ring of Fire, King’s Cup or Circle of Death, this extremely popular drinking game is one you’ll find being played all over the world, usually before a big night out. One of the more well-known drinking games out there, the rules can vary between different people you play with. For example, rules like “Thumb Master” can be switched with “Ground is Lava”, where the last player to be touching the ground has to drink!

You Will Need:

  1. Pint Glass (the "King's Cup")
  2. Pack of Cards
  3. A LOT of Alcohol

How to Play the Ring of Fire Drinking Game?

First of all, you’ll need to fan out the playing cards around the king’s cup, then get sat down around the circle. You will then take it in turns to pick a card from the circle. Whichever card you pick, you must then follow the rule attached to it (e.g. If the player picks a “2”, then they get to pick someone to drink).

With only four kings in the circle, each time the first three are picked, the player that selects a king must pour some of their own drink into the king’s cup. The unfortunate player to pick out the fourth king has essentially lost the game, as they will then need to drink the unsightly cocktail of mixed drinks in one sitting!

When to Play the Ring of Fire Card Game?

If you guys are planning on hitting the bars and nightclubs on a night out, then it would make sense to get together beforehand and get sat down to chat and play some drinking games like Ring of Fire! This is a game that’s best played in the comfort of your own home or accommodation, as it can get quite loud and confusing at times!

For example, in rounds like Thumb Master, you’re going to need to concentrate… and that’s going to be hard in a bar where the music is so loud that you can’t even hear yourself think! Not only is it a fun way to kick-off a fantastic evening, but it also gives the lads that aren’t acquainted with each other to get chatting and comfortable with everyone else in the group.
