What Do We Need for the Manchester Alcotraz Cocktail Bar Experience?

Depending on your group size, make sure to bring enough booze to go around as each person will receive multiple cocktails per person. Everything else including glassware, garnishes and props are included to make this stag do experience a memorable one.

What Liquor Shall We Bring for the Alcotraz Prison Event in Manchester?

We suggest groups bring their favourite booze, but for the best versatility 70cl bottles of spirits such as vodka, gin, and rum work best. We recommend one bottle per 3-4 inmates joining us so there’s plenty to go around.

History of Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay

The prison bar takes inspiration from the real Alcatraz Island, home to the notorious prison by the water between 1934 and 1963. During this time, the federal prison became renowned for its harsh exterior, temperamental waters and salty air. It earned the name “The Rock” because no inmate ever escaped the island in San Francisco Bay – although this is disputed!

Some of the most famous criminals that spent time incarcerated on Alcatraz Island include Al “Scarface” Capone and Robert “Birdman of Alcatraz” Stroud. However, possibly the most famous story from this intense prison was the escape attempt of 1962 by Frank Morris and brothers John ad Clarence Anglin. Frank and the brothers created an elaborate plan to break from their cells, build a raft made of coats and float the 1 ½ mile distance back to land. Some say they drowned on the harsh waters but some swear they survived to tell the tale.
