What do you need for the Virtual Horse Racing Party?

  • 10 - 200 players (if you have more than 200 people, just contact us)
  • We deliver this activity through Zoom and the web (no apps or downloads required)
  • Players need a laptop or desktop computer with access to Zoom and a web browser (so you can chat and play simultaneously)

How is the Virtual Horse Racing run on the night?

Once everyone is connected and ready for the virtual horse racing game on Zoom, the event starts with a two minute video setting the stage and explaining how to play.  The game is very simple, with each player having a choice of only three actions.  However, deciding how and when to take your actions, coordinating them with your teammates and reacting to what the other teams are doing, affects the outcome of the race and means no two games are ever the same.

After the introduction, the host fields any questions and places everyone into small teams.  The game is played over a series of six races, the first race is simplified as an introduction to get everyone up to speed.

Each race starts with a short overview of the track and conditions, then an action phase for about four minutes when teams plan together in their breakout rooms and make their decisions. A live market displayed on everyone’s screen shows constantly changing pay-outs of the horses as people take their actions.  Do you grab a great price early on (but signal your interest in that horse) or do you wait for others to play their hand and dive in at the last minute? Keep an eye out for the outsider!

After the action phase, the host brings all the teams back into a shared room to watch the race and cheer together. Will your colt come out of the blocks fast or stage a comeback down the final furlong. When the race is over the winning teams are announced and a short period of celebration, taunting and groans is quickly followed by the next race and it’s back to your breakout rooms to adjust your team strategy and try again.

The virtual race night is quick to learn and fun to play, you don't need a copy of the racing post. While everyone plays individually and chooses their own actions, the game consistently proves that teams that plan and coordinate their actions together are the most successful - and who doesn’t like to win?

Should I Host a Virtual Race Night?

Once booked, send this invitation out to your guests...

Who can play the Online Race Night?

Any type of group can play this game for any occasion.  Virtual horse racing is great for team building or a virtual Christmas party, everyone comes together to strategise & make decisions. But it also works well for a group of friends and family.  Great for parties.

Is the Virtual Horse Race Night ok for Parties?

Yes, it is!  Perfect for any event, whether that’s Christmas parties, award evenings, charity nights, birthday parties, family get together or just your mates.  The virtual race night is ideal for large groups, you need a minimum of 10 people.

How to Win on Virtual Horse Racing?

Start by studying the form guide, which highlights key strengths & potential weaknesses of the horses and jockeys. Review the initial speed and power of each horse while keeping a close eye on the training. The training can move up and down depending on what the other racegoers (your work colleagues) are spending their money on.

Ideally, you'll want to place a huge bet on a horse before it becomes a favourite. Once other people see a strong horse, they’ll also bet on it, which lowers the odds and this will reflect in a lower prize money.
