Pubs in Krakow
Aside from the longstanding tradition of vodka making, Poland has taken up a new brewing passion with craft beer and lager. More and more independent brewers and craft ale pubs are popping up all over the country, especially in cities like Krakow and Warsaw! If you and the girls are looking for a cosy spot to enjoy a local beer or two, then you’re in luck.
The first pub we think you should check out is House of Beer in the Old Town district. This traditional-style drinking hotspot stocks a wide variety of Polish, German, Lithuanian and Belgian beers for you to try plus many more from all over Europe and the rest of the world.
If you girls are looking for a little slice of home, then why not check out Krakow’s Bull Pub? This casually cosy drinking spot is a favourite for British tourists and those looking to catch the latest live sports. Being an English pub, The Bull serves up pretty much exactly what you’d find down at your local back home!
For a fantastic all day venue that definitely deserves a mention is CK Browar. This micro-brewery, restaurant and nightlife spot is as traditional as traditional gets! The interior of this pub features rustic exposed brick and wooden beams, making it the perfect setting to enjoy some delicious Polish cuisine or a locally-brewed beer. What makes this pub’s beer special is that it’s the only place in the city believed to still use the old Austro-Hungarian recipe. So whether you’re hoping to treat your taste buds or get psyched up for a night out, this is the place to head to.
Because of Poland’s low tax rate and lack of regulations on spirits, vodka is easily the most popular drink of choice. Krakow is no exception, and we think that you should head straight to one of the Old Town’s “Shot Bars” to experience some delicious flavoured vodka during your trip. One place to try is BaniaLuka. Known for its unbelievably cheap pints that can cost less than £1 and deliciously flavoured vodka shots that can cost even less, this is the ideal location to head to if you girls are looking to pre-drink at a local hotspot before a big night out.
Another brilliant place to check out some of Poland’s best flavoured vodka is the aptly-named Wodka Bar in the Old Town, located just a short walk away from St. Mary’s Basilica. One of the most popular drinking hotspots in the area, this bar boasts over 90 different kinds of flavoured vodka, with anything from caramel to coconut to choose from!
We all love a great cocktail, right? Well when you and the girls jet off to Krakow for your hen party abroad, this city has plenty of places to enjoy a cheeky martini or two! The first place we recommend checking out is Budda Cocktail Bar. Looking out onto the historic Old Town market square (Rynek Główny), this bar boasts a lovely beer garden area and front seating that makes for the perfect place to sit in the sun with a few drinks watching the crowds go by. If cocktail bars are your thing, then why not opt for a cocktail bar crawl hen party in Krakow?
For a really quirky experience, why not let your hair down and enjoy a few drinks with some in-house entertainment at Cybermachina Game Pub? Situated on Stolarska in the Old Town district, this bar is known universally as the most interesting place to drink in the entire city! This game-themed bar almost doubles up as an arcade, with games consoles, board games and much more available for punters to use. As well as a menu of themed cocktails and weird & wonderful drinks throughout, this is the perfect place to head to for a chilled evening or as a fun idea before a night out!
Looking to go all-out and have one last big night out with the girls before the wedding? Then coming to Krakow to dance the night away is a great choice. As we’ve mentioned before, the student population in this city is teeming, meaning that the nightlife is as good as it comes… and Krakow’s nightclubs are no exception!
The biggest and arguably the liveliest place to consider is Prozak 2.0. Located in one of the oldest underground spaces anywhere in the city, this three-floor nightclub has hosted some of the best DJs in Poland and the rest of Europe and is a regular hotspot for techno and house music lovers and students alike.
Another awesome underground nightclub that’s definitely worth the visit is Frantic Club Krakow, a modern and spacious venue that consists of four bars and has hosted some of the top DJs from around Europe and the rest of the world. Opening on weekends and hosting booming parties until the very early hours of the morning, what’s not to love about this classic club?
