99% of the time, cocktails and hen parties go hand in hand so what better way to prepare for the hen weekend ahead then learning how to make some delicious drinks for the celeb­ra­tions?

Whether it is for starting the night off before a hen party activity or for a girl’s night in with a mobile hen party activity, there is always time for a cocktail or two. And as the organiser of the weekend you obviously want to be pulling out all of the stops to ensure you impress the hen guests. So girls get ready to calculate some quantities and get out your finest glasses, it’s time to start shaking with 10 of the best hen party cocktails.

1.Grapefruit Margarita

2 oz. Tequila

2 oz. Grapefruit Juice

1 oz. Lime Juice

½ oz. Triple Sec

½ oz. Agave

Kosher Salt for Rim

Lime Wedge

Grapefruit/­Lemon Slice to Garnish

Method: Add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, triple sec and agave into a shaker with ice and start shaking. Take the lime wedge and run around the lip of the glass. Place salt onto a plate and swirl the cup lip in the salt. Add ice to the glass. Strain the cocktail shaker into the glass and garnish with the grapefruit.

2. Raspberry Daiquiri 

2 oz. Light Rum

1 oz. Lime Juice

2 Spoons of Caster Sugar

6 Raspberries

Method: Add 5 raspberries and the sugar into a mixing glass and muddle down both ingredients into a paste. Add the rum and lime juice and fill the mixing glass with cubed ice then shake for about 10-15 seconds. Double strain the drink into a glass and garnish with a raspberry.

3. Malibu Sunset

4 oz. Pineapple-Orange Juice

1 Shot of Malibu Coconut Rum

Grenadine

Maraschino Cherries for Garnish

Pineapple and Orange Slices for Garnish

Method: Add ice into a glass, add the juice and Malibu and stir well. Then drizzle the grenadine into the glass and then garnish with the cherries, pineapple and orange to serve.

4. Strawberry Long Island Iced Tea Pitcher

1.8 Litres of Hot Black Tea

2 Tablespoons of Superfine Sugar

4 oz. of Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

900g Straw­ber­ries, Fresh, Washed and Hulled

Shot of Vodka, Tequila or Gin (you decide depending on preference)

Method: Pour the tea into a mixing bowl and add the sugar and lemon juice. Stir through until the sugar has dissolved but make sure to test it to check whether additional sweetening or lemon juice is needed and then let it cool. Put a few strawberries to the side for garnish and purée the rest of them. Once puréed push it through a fine-sieve to remove any pips and then press on the mixture with the back of a spoon. Once the tea has cooled add the purée and mix, let it chill for at least 30 mins and then of course add your favourite white spirit and a few ice cubes in each class ready for serving.

5. Cotton Candy Champagne Cocktail

Cotton Candy

Bottle of Champagne, Prosecco or Wine

St. Germain Liqueur

Method: Place a decent sized piece of cotton candy inside of your glass and add a splash of St. Germain. And then take your bottle of champagne, prosecco or wine and fill to the top! Simple.

4 oz. Belvoir Elderflower & Rose Lemonade

Sprig of Lavender

Method: Freeze the bottle of rosé in ice cube trays overnight, combine the frozen rosé, Belvoir Elderflower & Rose Lemonade and a handful of ice cubes into a blender and blend until all ice cubes have been crushed and it is at your desired consistency. Serve in a class with the sprig of lavender to garnish.

7. Sparkling Raspberry Lemon Mimosas

4 oz. Champagne of Wine

2 oz. Raspberry Lemonade

Fresh Raspberries, sprinkled with white granulated sugar

Method: Pour 2 ounces of the champagne into a champagne flute so that it is 2/3 full. Pour about 1 ounce of raspberry lemonade into the flute and top with fresh sugared raspberries.

8. All That Glitters

1 ½ oz. Vodka

1 oz. Lillet Blanc

¼ oz. St. Germaine

Carvella Limoncello

Suze Liqueur

Edible Gold Glitter

Lemon

Method: Pour the vodka lillet blanc, St. Germaine and Carvella Limoncello into a mixing class with cubed ice. Mix for around 10-15 seconds and then sprinkle in a small amount of edible gold glitter and strain into a coupe glass. And then use a lemon to garnish.

9. Woo Woo

½-1 oz. Peach Schnapps

½-1 oz. Vodka

3-4 oz. Cranberry Juice

Method: Fill a glass with ice and pour the peach schnapps and the vodka in. Stir them together thoroughly and then top with cranberry juice.

10. Purple Rain

1 Lime Wedge

1 Shot of Sourz Cherry

1 Shot of Blue Liqueur

Lemonade

Method: Pour the shots into a glass and stir. Squeeze the lime over the ice and then top up the glass with lemonade and stir.
