Funktion Events Goes Cocktail Making

Funktion Events Goes Cocktail Making

Recently here at Funktion we had a new starter which meant we had the perfect excuse to try out one of our most popular team building activities.

So we decided to head down to our local Las Iguanas on Pepper Street in Chester for a well-deserved team building activity. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely team, Andy who was from the Casual Dining Group and our bartender Sam (who was a trained mixologist) for the evening who had mixed up a caipirinha for us all to enjoy before he started the class.

To begin with, Sam talked us through all of the equipment we may need throughout the activity as well as what each thing may be used for. And then that’s where the fun started. Between our team we had to decide on 3 cocktails we wanted to make for the evening and after some discussing we decided on a strawberry daiquiri, Pina colada and a mojito, all of the classics really.

And then in pairs we each went up to mix together our cocktails, Sam was great and even created recipes for mocktails versions of our chosen cocktails for people in the team who were driving for the evening. Once everyone had made 2 of the 3 cocktails we had chosen Sam then decided that our third cocktail should be made as a competition. Each of us was timed on how quickly we could make it and then it was noted and the winner got another cocktail. And we ended the session off with a shot, of course.

So from the entire cocktail making class we had 4 cocktails each, 5 for the winner of the competition. After we made our way downstairs to the restaurant and tucked in to a delicious 2 course meal with Andy. It was very interesting as we could get a real insight for the activity we sell whilst testing it all out.

Overall the cocktail making class was perfect for bonding our new team member with everyone else in our team and it is definitely an activity we would do again in the future!
