When it comes to your wedding, you want to make sure that you and your newlywed are happy, but also that your guests are too!

And ultimately, this all comes down to everything that is happening on the day. For example, if you want to make a really good impression right from the reception, then having a cocktail hour will be perfect! But what cocktails you may be asking?

We’re so glad that you asked! Here at Funktion Events, we have done our fair share of research (so you don't have to!) and have come up with some perfect cocktails for any wedding that will be sure to tingle the taste buds of even the fussiest of guests!

Cocktails to Serve at Weddings

1. Strawberry Gold Rush

Strawberry Gold Rush


  • 3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 oz. 2:1 Honey Syrup (2 Parts Honey 1 Water)
  • 2 oz. Bourbon
  • 2-3 Fresh Strawberries

How to Make

  • Shake all of the ingredients together in a shaker with ice for around 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a glass with an ice cube & then garnish with straw­ber­ries.

Perfect for

  • a outdoor Summer wedding.

2. Bubbly Bouquet

  • 1 oz. Fords Gin
  • 1 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 75 oz. Aperol
  • .25 oz. Giffard's Orgeat Syrup

How to Make

  • Put all ingredients together in a shaker with ice and strain into a wine glass.
  • Add some sparkling wine and garnish with some baby breath.

Perfect for

  • A white wedding.

3. French 75

Cocktail bar


  • 1 oz. Dry Gin
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lemon
  • 1/2 oz. 2:1 Simple Syrup ( 2 Parts Sugar 1 Boiling Water)
  • 2 oz. Cava

How to Make

  • Pour the lemon juice, simple syrup and gin into a shaker with ice.
  • Strain into a champagne flute and top with Cava.

Perfect for

  • Traditional white wedding.

4. Raspberry Limoncello Prosecco

Raspberry Limoncello Prosecco

You will need

  • 4 oz. Prosecco, chilled
  • 8 oz. Limoncello Liqueur, chilled
  • 8 oz. Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 Sprig of Fresh Mint

How to Make

  • In a pitcher, mix together the prosecco and limoncello
  • Serve in a champagne flute and garnish with mint and raspberries.

Perfect for

  • Summer wedding.

5. Corralejo Tequila Tiki

Corralejo Tequila Tiki


  • 2 oz. Corralejo Silver
  • 1 oz. Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Banana Syrup
  • 5 dashes of Aromatic Bitter

How to Make

  • Add all ingredients exept the bitter into a shaker with ice.
  • Strain into a tall glass over crushed ice and top with bitters.

Perfect for

  • A destination wedding.

6. Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade

Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade


  • 2 oz. Whiskey
  • 2 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1 Rosemary Sprig
  • 1 oz. Blackberry Simple Syrup (Fresh Blackber­ries, Sugar, Water)
  • 2 oz. Tonic Water or Sparkling Wine

How to Make

  • Add all your ingredients into a shaker bar the tonic or wine and shake with ice.
  • Fill your glass just under half way and fill the rest with tonic or wine - add lemonade if desired.

Perfect for

  • Signature Groom wedding cocktail.

How you present your cocktail station is up to you! We tend to find that it all depends on the setup and theme of your wedding reception. For example, if you're hosting an outdoor wedding with a boho-chic twist, then a mobile cocktail van may be a fantastic idea. On the flipside, a classy reception at a 5-star venue may require a different setup!
