Chic and modern, all bar one is a quieter spot that’s perfect in the day for an informal meeting with colleagues or stakeholders. Whether you want a place for a coffee and short chat or you’re setting up for a midday meal with laptops and notepads, All Bar One can cater for any kind of meeting. Take your meeting to Oddfellows, a quirky and different venue that’s sure to make an impression. Some people may not know that Oddfellows has it’s own dining suite for daytime drinks and tasty meals right in the heart of the hotel. Venture down Lower Bridge Street to this bright and airy restaurant to energise the meeting and add something a bit different to your working lunch this time around.

3. Bar Lounge
A little more high end, Bar Lounge is a prime spot of meetings if you’re office is in the centre or close to the Chester cross. Right on the corner and just a stone’s throw away from the race course, bar lounge has an outdoor seating area if you want some fresh air while you mull over ideas. The indoor area is just as nice, and the menu is kept clean and simple with their sharing platters being the star of the show – so you can focus on all the important stuff.

4. The Botanist
Fresh-faced, The Botanist offers a completely different experience from the other Chester bars for a working lunch. Down Godstall Lane you’ll find dangled fairy lights and epic greenery to catch the eye, with high and low tables to keep you comfortable for your meeting. They offer an extensive list of teas and coffees, plus herbal mocktails for more of a fruity kick. It’s a great way to make the meeting feel like a treat to break up the day.

5. Hickory's Smokehouse
Right on the river Dee you’ll find the hugely popular Hickory’s, which usually gets a lull of customers in the day perfect for a quiet yet delicious meeting. Serving up proper American-style cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere, everyone in the team will feel comfortable enough to get involved in the meeting here. Again, this laid-back venue has a surprising amount of space for you to get out your laptops and start gathering inspiration. They have a collection of outdoor seats if the weather is nice, and serve tasty tea, coffee and British classics inside to keep everyone refreshed throughout the working lunch. Right in the centre, Duttons is an easy choice with accessibility.

7. The Alchemist
For concoctions and a choice of cuisine, The Alchemist is definitely one of the more unique Chester bars for a working lunch. Found at the end of St John’s Street, you might want to make this meeting later in the afternoon to take advantage of their interactive cocktails that change colours and blow steam. For food, they have tapas style dishes that are perfect for nibbling in between key meeting points and discussions, and there’s an upstairs restaurant or high-seated bar area to choose from.

8. Abode - 5th Floor
From the outside, the Abode hotel exudes an official and sophisticated appearance, and the same can be said for the 5th floor bar and restaurant area. A great choice if you’re meeting delegates or stakeholders, the brasserie with a view offers a delicious menu with a lot of choice to cater for everyone. Plus, the seating is few and far between for a bit of privacy, and a lot of the tables are booth style so you can sit comfortably for a long working lunch if needed.

9. Slug & Lettuce
Definitely the best bar for a more fun and informal working lunch, Slug and Lettuce has a botanical theme with 2 for 1 on drinks – mocktails included.
