For your classic Italian dishes we would highly suggest that you head over to the incredible Italia Oggi. Its known for being one of the tastiest Italians in the whole of Amsterdam and we can definitely vouch for that! The restaurant has been going since 2005 and their menu is full of all your traditional dishes like antipasti, pasta, meat and fish. One of their specialities is a pasta dish that is tossed in a giant wheel of cheese before getting served up onto your plate!

2. Manneken Pis
Although this one isn’t actually a restaurant, it’s the perfect place to head if you are looking for a lunch on the go. Manneken Pis is a chip shop where their chips have been voted No. 1 in the whole of Holland. Now that is a big statement, but trust us they are! As well as their chips you can choose from 22 different sauces to pair with your delicious cone. We would suggest sharing a large cone though as they are huge! Unless you feel up for the challenge.

3. PANCAKES Amsterdam Westermarkt
One of the traditional Dutch dishes are their pancakes, particularly their Poffertjes, the little round pancakes that usually come with butter and powdered sugar. As well as these sweet pancakes they also have all sorts of other pancakes. Breakfast ones, American pancakes, savoury Dutch pancakes, sweet pancakes. You name it you will be able to have it on a pancake here. As well as the pancakes, all of their hot drinks come with a little Stroopwafel on top!

4. La Perla Pizzeria
Right in the centre of the Jordaan area of Amsterdam you will find “Little Italy”, as you can imagine this is because of all the Italian restaurants here. One of the best places to head for some traditional Italian pizzas is La Perla Pizzeria. All their pizzas are made in a wood fired oven and they have both inside and outside seating for you to enjoy especially in the summer months. But if you aren’t wanting any pizza they also have plenty of pasta and sandwich options during lunch time for everyone.

The Pantry is a traditional Dutch restaurant serving a variety of classic Dutch dishes. And when you are in the capital of the Netherlands we’re sure you will be wanting to try out all the different delicious dishes that they have in the country. Since opening in 2014, Foodhallen has become an extremely popular place to visit if you want to try a wide range of high quality delicious foods all under one roof. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s a foot court, it’s the perfect place to head if you want to try out different local cuisines. Inside there are 21 different food stands and you can enjoy everything from hot dogs to Asian, Mexican to chicken and everything in between!

7. Loetje East
This homely and extremely welcoming restaurant is the perfect place to head if you are looking for a delicious steak! And it is in the perfect location as it is right on the corner of the Wibautstraat which is known for being a street full of plenty of lively places to head which is perfect after a delicious meal. You can enjoy late night food in the evening or even just sit in the outdoor seating and soak up some sun with a bite to eat for lunch!
